Allison Jones is truly inspiring. This beautiful and talented person just recently moved to Szigestszentmiklos, Hungary to spend a year of her life working in the missions coffee shop, teaching English, playing with children, and ministering with local churches in and around Hungary. Through this journey, she has experienced many incredible things and has many wonderful stories to tell. Here is just one of the many.

Have you ever asked Jesus what He thinks about you? I had never done it until recently. A few weeks ago, I attended a conference in Budapest where the attendees were asked to do something a little weird. After her message, the speaker asked us to get up from our seats and go sit by ourselves in another area of the room. When everyone was settled, she asked us to sit back and close our eyes. She said this was to help us use our imaginations again, like we did when we were children. And then she began giving us this narrative.
Imagine you’re standing on the beach at the Sea of Galilee, looking out at the water. You start walking along the shore, letting the waves lap against your feet, and look up to see Jesus walking toward you. At the sight of Him, your pulse quickens and you smile. He’s wearing a long white robe and has a hand stretched out to you. He gives you a smile as you walk to Him. When you reach Him, He takes His hand in yours and says, “There you are.” As you walk along the shore together, He points to the hills and shows you the wildflowers He planted just for you, for this moment. He continues to lead you along the beach and stops after a few moments. As you turn to Him, you ask, “Jesus? What do you think about me?”
For the next several minutes, people were silent. Eventually you could hear some people begin to weep. Some would write. Some could only bear to sit and bask in His presence. For some people, Jesus asked them to dance. He told people how beautiful they are.
For me, Jesus and I just stood at the water, the waves calmly lapping over our feet. When I asked Him, I heard Him answer in such a quiet, small voice that still somehow had all the authority and confidence in the world. He told me such sweet things that I desperately needed to hear. He didn’t simply say I’m beautiful, but it was if He was talking about attributes of my character instead of my physical attributes.
Jesus told me I am a smile, I am laughter. It was so out of character for me, so I knew I wasn’t making it up – it really was Jesus. He told me a number of other things. Then He looked me dead in the eyes, wiped away the tears that were coming, and told me something I will never forget.
He said, “Allison. You are a melody that is yet to be discovered.”
Everything else could have faded away and I would not have noticed or cared. All I cared about was Him.
